body pump 4

Took part in my fourth body pump class this morning. I’m learning what weight I need to up the intensity. Am still apparently not using enough in the chest segment (mostly bench-pressing), as it’s too easy.

The hardest part for me is lunges. The squat is an old familiar friend, but I’ve always hated lunges–and thus neglected them–because I find them so difficult. Perhaps this will spur me to conquer my laziness.

I hate the lunges too, mostly because of a bum right knee that makes stabilization as I step down especially difficult. But, they’re great for the glutes.

BTW, enjoying your blog immensely — I’ve gone back and read every post.

    Kris–
Thanks for posting–and thanks for your kind words about the blog! I’m honored.

I have trouble balancing when I descend during lunges. Balance has never been my best thing, so I wobble a bit. But talk about glutes–my second-day soreness was pronounced after this last class. Must be doing me good.

Is there anyone who has done Body Pump long enough to see results? I did my first class the other night, and havent been able to mover for 3 days :) I know it must be doing some good, but I was just wondering on what time table I could expect to start seeing any changes? Thanks!

I am on my fifth Body Pump class and thus second week of it. I was like most of you, the first time I took I couldn’t move for four days! Then my friend and I said never again will we return. So for two months we did step classes, aerobic classes, and dance classes, thus building up our strength and endurance. We then rethought the Body Pump class and recently started again. Not nearly as sore as before and we love it! I like Barbie wonder has anyone seen results from this class and how much or how fast?? Thanks
